The President’s Council Award recognizes outstanding 埃尔迈拉大学 graduates who have distinguished themselves and the College by exemplary service in the College's greater community, 和谁, 通过慷慨地奉献他们的时间和才能, 是否改善了社区的质素.

She went on to teach language in the Elmira City School District and served as the Language Department Chair. Winston is no stranger to hard work and philanthropy, giving back to the community and beyond. 她曾担任Susan G. Komen Southern Tier Affiliate and is a member of the New York State Komen Board, raising millions for cancer research and awareness. She is also the Chair of the Special 事件 Committee for CASA and the Arnot Art Museum and volunteers for the Junior League, 统一的方式, 和人类家园.

在仪式上, Stand Energy Executive Vice President Larry Freeman and the President’s Council Business Relations Committee formally presented Barton with the 2024 Stand Energy Prize. The Prize was established through a generous endowment funded by the Stand Energy Corporation. Each year a monetary prize is awarded to an outstanding 埃尔迈拉大学 intern. Students are nominated by their supervisors and selected by the Council’s Business Relations Committee. These students are recognized for working independently while maintaining a team attitude and applying their academic preparation to a real-world work environment.

Barton intends to gain a year of work experience in her local community before beginning her Master of Arts degree in museum studies in the fall of 2025.
